ANCA Board EOI

Bring your skills and expertise to the governance of a unique arts organisation. 

Australian National Capital Artists Inc (ANCA) seeks expressions of interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and committed people to join its volunteer Board. ANCA is an independent not-for-profit artist-run initiative in Canberra providing affordable, professional studios and exhibition space for artists. Our gallery presents a professional program of art exhibitions and events aimed at providing important opportunities for artists to show their work as a part of their contemporary arts careers. 

ANCA is seeking new board members with an interest in our mission and a willingness to contribute their professional expertise to our governance. We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest for the roles of Secretary and Specialist Board Member.

Secretary

The role of Secretary is a critical, hands-on role for ANCA’s governance. It will suit someone passionate about good quality of governance and administration.

You will:

  • Keep board meetings running smoothly by attending monthly meetings and taking clear, accountable notes

  • Support effective communication by preparing agendas, sharing minutes and helping track agreed actions

  • Assist with annual processes like the AGM, including notices, nominations and elections 

  • Keep key records up to date, such as member details and important governance documents

  • Work alongside the ANCA Chair, ANCA Manager and fellow board members as part of a collaborative, supportive team.

Specialist Board Member

Our Specialist Board Members bring valuable skills and experience which support our sustainability and longevity as an NFP arts organisation. 

You will:

  • Attend monthly Board meetings, and the organisation’s AGM.

  • Provide professional advice and contribute to the development of our strategic and long-term initiatives

  • Be an advocate for ANCA.
